“SLPP not against Gotabaya becoming Prime Minister” Two SLPP MPs

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) says it will not object if former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is prepared to take over the post of Prime Minister upon his arrival to Sri Lanka.

The statement was made by SLPP MPs Madura Withanage and Pradeep Undugoda while responding to questions raised by journalists during a media briefing.

Stating that Gotabaya Rajapaksa was elected as president with the support of 6.9 million people, the MPs said that his appointment as Prime Minister will not be objected to by anyone.(NewsWire)
