A decision has been taken to suspend the distribution of fuel to 12 fuel stations in Sri Lanka.

Minister of Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said that the decision was taken as the fuel stations had failed to comply with the guidelines of the National Fuel Pass QR system.

“A progress review of the CPC Marketing division was held today, during which the QR system implementation by the fuel stations was reviewed,” he said.

The Minister further said that based on the review it was decided to suspend fuel distribution to 12 stations that had not complied with the guidelines.

Instructions were given to continuously monitor the stations and to submit complaints received by the public to the relevant Police stations, he added. (NewsWire)
