The Police fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a group of protestors who were blocking the road at Union Place in Colombo.

The Inter-University Student’s Federation (IUSF) staged a protest march against the current government in Colombo today.

The IUSF held the protest against what it called the deal by the Ranil-Rajapaksa junta.

The Police said six persons including the IUSF convener Wasantha Mudalige and Jehan Appuhamy were arrested during the protest march.

They added that IUSF convener Wasantha Mudalige had participated in the protest while under a pending arrest warrant. (NewsWire)
