A proposal to create a more productive public service in Sri Lanka has been presented by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
MP Namal Rajapaksa has forwarded his proposal Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
In his letter, the MP points out that it has been observed that those employed as field officers in the Public Sector can work more productively if they are allowed to work from their area of residence for 2 or 3 days of the week, instead of working all 5 days at their permanent workplaces.
Former Minister Namal Rajapaksa said thereby, a more productive public service could be provided if those employed as field officers are enabled to work in their respective Grama Niladhari Divisions.
He requested the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Public Administration to consider the implementation of the proposal. (NewsWire)
