Two suspects accused of abducting an underage girl have been arrested following a joint operation conducted by the Police and the Special Task Force in the Udakiruwa area in the Udakiruwa Forest reserve in Lunugala yesterday. 

The Police said a 14-year-old girl from the Lunugala area had been abducted by the suspects on the 3rd of August.

The suspects have been identified as 18 and 53 years old from the Lunugala and Beruwala areas.

The Police found the suspects after they had abducted and concealed the girl in the Udakiruwa Forest reserve for 08 days.

The suspects have been handed over to the Lunugala Police for further investigations, while the victim is set to be handed over for a medical examination. (NewsWire)
