Minister of Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara has held a discussion with President Ranil Wickremesinghe on permitting employees who work for an offshore IT/ICT company from Sri Lanka while receiving US dollars as a salary to be eligible for dollar incentives provided.
The proposed incentives to provide a license to import Electric Vehicles are currently applicable only for Sri Lankan migrant workers based on their foreign remittances.

Responding to the queries, the Minister told NewsWire a discussion was held with the President on extending the proposed incentives for Sri Lankans working for offshore IT/ICT companies.
He further said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has responded positively to the matter.

He added that he hoped the incentive could also be provided to all those who bring in the much-needed Dollars to the country.
Minister Nanayakkara had also tweeted confirming that he had received a positive response from President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
