Trade Union leader Saman Ratnapriya has been appointed as the Trade Union Director General of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The President’s Media Division said the appointment has been made as per the powers vested with the President under Article 41 (1) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka. 

Based on the recommendation of the President, his Secretary Saman Ekanayake has appointed Saman Ratnapriya as the Trade Union Director General of the President.

Saman Ratnapriya is the current Chairman of the Government Nurses Association.

He also served as a member of Parliament for a few months after being appointed via the National List Seat of the United National Party (UNP). (NewsWire)
