Potential arrest of Rev. Jeevantha Peiris: 1640 Catholic Priests issue statement

1640 Catholic Priests, Sisters and brothers in Sri Lanka have issued a statement against the repression against Rev. Fr. Jeevantha Peiris and other members of the people’s protest movement.

In the joint statement signed by the Catholic Priests, they have expressed serious concern on potential arrest of Rev Fr. Jeevantha Peiris, Catholic Priest from the Diocese of Rathnapura.

On 25th July, The Colombo Magistrate’s Court had issued a travel ban on Rev. Fr. Jeevantha Peiris and several other protestors. (NewsWire)
