The Fort Police OIC has been ordered to immediately produce the money that was found at the President’s official residence on 9th July.

The money had been handed over to the Sri Lanka Police by a group of protestors who had stormed the President’s house in Fort, Colombo.

The order was issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court today after the court was informed that the protesters had counted and handed over Rs. 17.8 Million in cash.

Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage said that even though it is three weeks since the money was handed over to the Police, no report on the money has been submitted to the court as yet.
