The government has appointed the Deputy and Assistant Government Whips to be represented in Parliament.
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena yesterday (27) handed over the appointment letters at the Prime Minister’s Office in Parliament.
Accordingly, Members of Parliament Sagara Kariyawasam and Jayantha Ketagoda have been appointed as Deputy Government Whips.
Kokila Gunawardena, Madhura Withanage, and Thisakutti Arachchi have been appointed as Assistant Government whips.
The Leader of the House, Minister Susil Premajayantha, the Chief Government Whip, Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, Secretary to the Chief Government Whip and Additional Secretary to the President Chaminda Kularatne, Secretary to the Leader of the House and Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister Harsha Wijewardana were present at this occasion.
