Leader of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that some members of the SJB had secretly voted for Ranil Wickremesinghe at the election in Parliament to elect the President.

“Ranil Wickremesinghe got 134 votes, hence we should see 134 members sitting in the government side. But that will never happen, because some members of the SJB have secretly voted for Ranil” he said addressing a gathering

He further said that it can be revealed when the Parliament convenes on the 27th July and a vote is taken to pass the emergency regulations.

“The vote for the emergency law is not a secret ballot, so I’m telling you today, these people will remain in the opposition on that day. They have taken money for the Presidential vote and now since it’s done they will sit back in the opposition” he added. (NewsWire)
