Fourteen members of the Samagi Jana Balawegay (SJB) had cast their votes for President Ranil Wickremesinghe during the secret ballot that was held in Parliament, MP Harin Fernando revealed. 

Harin Fernando also said that 4 or 5 TNA MPs also voted for Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Speaking to reporters following the Presidential vote yesterday, MP Fernando said that at present, President Ranil Wickremesinghe is the only capable person who can resolve the current issues of the country.

“If all political parties representing Parliament can come forward and work together to resolve the various crises requested by the new President, it will be beneficial for the country’s future,” he added. (NewsWire)
