Acting President and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will obtain 140 or more votes during the Parliamentary vote to elect a new President, United National Party (UNP) Chairman Vajira Abeywardena said. 

Stating that his previous predictions have never gone wrong, the former MP said that he is 1000% sure that Ranil Wickremesinghe will be elected as the new President of Sri Lanka. 

Vajira Abeywardena further said as the Chairman of the UNP he has held discussions with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and other political parties to prevent Sri Lanka from heading towards anarchy. 

He added that he believes that the nation will return to normalcy following the election of a new President through the Parliament. (NewsWire)
