AKD puts two conditions to withdraw from Presidency race & join all party Govt

Leader of the JVP, Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that he’s willing to withdraw from contesting for the Presidency if all parties get together and agree to nominate 2 MPs for the Presidency and Premiership, who do not have aspirations of holding these positions in the long run.

He further said they they are also willing to accept responsibilities in an upcoming interim government, if the condition to nominate 2 such MPs for President and Prime Minister as well as agree on the short term action plan to stabilize the country in a short period and go for fresh elections as soon as possible.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake made these comments while addressing the media after meeting a group of representatives from the Galle Face protestors at the party headquarters today (17). (NewsWire)
