Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has summoned a special Party Leaders’ meeting for this evening.
Tamil Progressive Alliance leader MP Mano Ganesan said that the meeting is scheduled to get underway at 04.00 pm today.
Earlier this afternoon, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also called for an emergency Party Leaders’ meeting to discuss the current situation in the country and come to a swift resolution.
The Prime Minister had also requested Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to summon Parliament.
The public stormed the Presidential Secretariat and the President’s official residence during anti-government protests held today to show displeasure against the President and government over the current crisis. (NewsWire)
