Group of SLPP MPs call for President’s resignation

A group of government MPs has called on president Gotabaya Rajapaksa to immediately resign.

In a letter addressed to the President, 16 Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs have called on him to provide the opportunity for a mature leader without allegations of corruption.

They also point out the need to provide the opportunity for a leader who can win a clear Parliamentary majority representing Parliament. 

The group of SLPP MPs include, Dulles Alahapperuma, Channa Jayasumana, and Nalaka Godahewa. (NewsWire)
