The Lanka Indian Oil Company has suspended the distribution of fuel to its fuel stations with immediate effect.

“We have been advised to discontinue our supply operations to sheds with immediate effect for today & tomorrow in view of the planned protests in Sri Lanka,” the company said in a message on social media.

LIOC said that, however, it will continue its supplies from the Petroleum terminal in Trincomalee to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and to the industries uninterruptedly.

The company added that it hopes to resume supplies to sheds from Sunday, the 10th of July, in the early hours. (NewsWire)
