Economic crisis : Govt to provide Rs. 7500 allowance

The government has decided to provide an allowance to people worst affected by the economic crisis from July, Minister of Plantations Ramesh Pathirana said.

Speaking to the media, the Minister said an allowance of Rs. 7500 will be provided to those severely affected by the economic crisis.

He further said the allowance would be given through a fund of US$ 200 million from the World Bank and US$ 200 million from the Asian Development Bank.

Those eligible for the allowance include Samurdhi beneficiaries, senior citizens, and medical-related. (NewsWire)
