Gota Go Home’ activists released on bail

Key “Gota Go Home” activists Lahiru Weerasekera, Ven. Rathkarawwe Jinaratne thero, and YouTuber Rathindu Senaratne aka Ratta have been released on bail. 

They were arrested and remanded over the violence that was reported during a protest in Colombo on the 09th of June. 

They were wanted for illegal assembly opposite the Police Headquarters in Colombo as well as for causing damage to public property and obstructing the duties of Police officers during the protest.

They were arrested after they surrendered to the Maradana Police and were remanded by the Fort Magistrate’s Court until today.

However, the Fort Magistrate’s Court released them on personal bail today. (NewsWire)
