An individual has died while waiting in a fuel queue in the Batagoda area in Anguruwatota, Kalutara.

The Police said the deceased has been identified as a 63-year-old man.

They further said that the man had been waiting in the fuel queue for 5 days.

Exactly a week ago, last Thursday (16), a 53-year-old man died while waiting in queue for several hours at a fuel station in Wekada, Panadura last night.

The man was reported to have died of a heart attack while waiting in the queue in his three-wheeler.

Several persons have died thus far while waiting in queue to purchase fuel as Sri Lanka’s economic crisis worsens.

The shortage of fuel and gas has forced the public to wait in queues for several hours or days. (NewsWire)
